VerifyX proposes a digital compliance system for regulated alcohol sales in Bhutan. The project uses NDI-based verification to help confirm that businesses are licensed and that customers meet age requirements before a transaction proceeds.
The prototype allows store owners to register with NDI-verified business licence proofs, verifies customer age at the point of sale, blocks underage or expired-licence transactions, and records compliance events. It also includes dashboards for store operations, authority monitoring, and privacy-preserving research analytics.
The public-service value is in reducing reliance on manual age checks and paper-based licence inspection. A system like VerifyX could help businesses comply with regulation, support authorities in monitoring patterns, and create clearer accountability for restricted sales without exposing unnecessary personal information.
This proposal is relevant for digital identity use cases where the relying party needs to know that a condition is satisfied, such as age or licence status, rather than needing full identity disclosure. It therefore offers a concrete example of how NDI could support privacy-conscious compliance.
