The Munansi Community-Led Climate Resilience and Regenerative Livelihoods Project, implemented by Munansi Green Initiative in Uganda, is being delivered in rural and peri-urban communities working directly with farmers, youth groups, women, and school communities to address climate change while restoring ecosystems and improving livelihoods. The project is actively rolling out regenerative agriculture practices, sustainable beekeeping (Munansi Hives), agroforestry systems, and environmental education programs. Farmers and youth are being trained in modern apiculture and provided with beehives to support pollinator conservation, improve crop productivity, and generate household income. In schools and community spaces, food and fruit forests are being established to restore degraded land, improve nutrition, and provide practical learning environments. Women and youth are also engaged in green entrepreneurship, savings groups, eco-clubs, and climate awareness activities that strengthen their leadership and economic participation. Primary beneficiaries include smallholder farmers, rural youth, women’s groups, and school communities. These groups benefit through improved agricultural productivity, diversified income sources, increased environmental knowledge, and strengthened community organization for collective action. Impact is tracked through both quantitative and qualitative indicators, including the number of farmers and youth trained, beehives distributed and managed, trees planted, school eco-clubs established, income generated from bee and agricultural products, and observable improvements in soil health, pollination, and biodiversity. Participatory monitoring approaches, community feedback sessions, and field observations are used to validate outcomes and ensure accountability. Funders can review training attendance records, beekeeping group membership lists, hive installation records, school and community restoration site documentation, photos and field reports, income and production records from bee products, and testimonies from beneficiaries. Additional evidence includes partnership records, monitoring reports, and documentation from climate advocacy and learning activities. The project will scale by expanding Munansi Hives to more farmers, increasing the number of school and community food and fruit forests, and strengthening value addition for bee and agricultural products. Future plans include establishing a climate learning hub for youth and women, improving access to organic inputs, building stronger market linkages for green enterprises, and replicating the model in additional communities across Uganda to deepen climate resilience and long-term sustainability.
