About Umma Muda Indonesia
Umma Muda Indonesia is a youth-led community organization working to strengthen Indigenous communities, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience across Indonesia, with a particular focus on Papua. We believe that Indigenous Peoples are among the most effective guardians of biodiversity and ancestral territories, and that empowering local communities is essential for building regenerative futures.
Our team consists of young community organizers, Indigenous youth leaders, educators, environmental advocates, and local facilitators who work closely with customary leaders, women, and grassroots communities. Together, we support initiatives that protect ecosystems, preserve traditional knowledge, strengthen community governance, and increase resilience to climate-related challenges.
