VUC DAO: Bridging Grassroots Communities and Global Opportunity
Millions of Ugandans possess the strength and determination to build better lives, yet face barriers to education, economic opportunity, and digital inclusion. VUC DAO believes these communities aren't problems to solve—they're partners to empower.
Founded in 2017 by K Martin Oscar and Waswa Charles, VUC DAO evolved from research into a long-term mission creating sustainable systems for vulnerable communities across Uganda and Africa. Rather than scaling quickly, the organization adopted a "pilot-first" approach, launching grassroots implementation in 2020 with five pilot communities.
A pivotal moment arrived in 2021 when VUC DAO entered the Web3 space through ImpactMarket, introducing communities to decentralized funding and Universal Basic Income pilots. This experience revealed how blockchain technology could democratize funding access and connect local communities to global support systems.
Today, VUC DAO operates a dual-impact ecosystem combining ground-level support—education, women's empowerment, climate solutions, renewable energy, and skills training—with blockchain infrastructure across Celo, Ethereum, Optimism, and Base.
The vision? "From VUC to AVC"—expanding from Uganda to become Africa's leading decentralized ecosystem for education, climate resilience, and humanitarian innovation.
With your support, VUC DAO aims to reach 50,000+ vulnerable individuals, build innovation hubs, scale Web3 education, and create lasting generational impact across Africa.
