Sustainability researchers came to the conclusion about ten years ago that our civilization is collapsing. A multidisciplinary field called “collapsology” was born. Historically, the collapse of civilizations has usually been associated with the destruction of nature, the threat to security of supply, energy and food shortages, the failure of systems, and anarchy. This is therefore a global challenge for which it is extremely important and urgent to find effective solutions — also bioregionally.
This project is about organizing a week-long event for civic cooperation and influence, taking place from 28 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 on an international level by bringing together a total of 40 regenerators from all Nordic nations and other neighbouring countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Sami people, Estonia, and North-West Russia (if the border has been opened). The project team of 8 members will consist of one representative from each nation. The groundbreaking event will take place in the premises of Good Life Community, Rautalampi, central Finland.
During the retreat, the people of the Nordic region will return to their roots to remember their common origin (cultural geographical region) and their true mission — to serve as an example to the rest of the world of partnership with nature and regenerative participation in building a better society. The purpose is to celebrate our achievements of the past year, bring the regenerative traditions of different peoples to the common table, envision the future of the Nordic region, open up cooperation between groups from different countries, brainstorm a joint Nordic project for regenerative participation, and combine resources. When we implement all of this using the best methods, we are in for quite a summit!
