Beirut’s Green Lungs by theOtherForest
theOtherForest is a flagship initiative under theOtherDada, a regenerative advisory firm, reimagining how cities heal and breathe.
It transforms neglected urban pockets into dense native micro-forests using the Miyawaki method, accelerating ecosystem recovery in highly compact urban spaces. These fast-growing forests restore biodiversity, cool overheated districts, improve air quality, and rebuild ecological function where it has been lost.
But beyond environmental repair, theOtherForest is a shift in urban logic: from grey infrastructure to living systems. It embeds nature back into the fabric of the city, turning degraded land into resilient ecological infrastructure.
Equally, it is deeply social. Communities, students, and volunteers are directly involved in planting and stewardship, turning regeneration into a shared act of ownership and awareness.
Across Lebanon and the wider MENA region, theOtherForest is scaling a simple but radical idea: cities don’t need more decoration, they need to be rewilded from within.
