We are working to promote reforestation in Matagalpa, as well as responsible practices of soil and water conservation. This is achieved through a network of community leaders and is coordinated with local partners. Our goal is to continue to restore degraded areas in Matagalpa, through training in environmental stewardship and investments in restorative practices. Because the area where we work is characterized by high poverty levels, we also hope to create sources of income through these initiatives.
