Known internationally as a pioneering design studio behind some of the most celebrated eco-resorts, Nomadic has quietly built a reputation for creating environments that dissolve the boundary between architecture and landscape. With Nomadic Escapes, the company steps into an operator role for the first time, translating its design ethos into a portfolio of destinations defined by raw nature, land regeneration, and a deliberate departure from conventional hospitality.

Nomadic Escapes will launch a series of tropical island destinations in the Indian Ocean starting with projects in Mauritius and Madagascar. Each location is selected for reforestation impact, places where terrain and atmosphere shape the experience as much as the built environment itself.

At the core of Nomadic Escapes is a design philosophy that is epiphytic - rather than imposing on the environment, each destination is conceived as a quiet extension of the landscape. Structures disappear into their surroundings, materials weather and evolve with time, and spaces prioritize biophilic experience above sensory overload. One of the first destinations to emerge under the Nomadic Escapes banner is Bamboo Mountain, a sculptural, elevated retreat of lightweight, modular structures at the foot of an extinct volcano in Mauritius on the edge of one of the last remaining Ebony Forests. Raised into the surrounding canopy, it offers a deep, sensory experience of place and a clear expression of what Nomadic Escapes intends to create- environments where architecture frames nature, rather than competing with it.
