After the 2004 tsunami destroyed our coastal mangroves, 811 low-income women oyster harvesters in Aceh struggled to survive. We created a regenerative oyster farming model using discarded tires and water containers as collectors, reducing pressure on mangroves while tripling incomes. Today, we protect 11 hectares of blue carbon ecosystem, restore coastal biodiversity, preserve traditional oyster culture, and inspire seven villages to replicate this community-led solution.
