Kimilili community land users association is a voluntary non- profit non- partisan civil society organization duly established and is operating in accordance with the constitution of Kenya,Kclua was established in 2011 as a result of Land conflict and degradation through fragmentation around Mount Elgon that was posing a threat to biodiversity conservation, heritage and economy hence the need for landscape restoration. Few individuals though it wise to harmonize the issues through forming a group to intervene against above challenges. The group vision is a community that sustainably uses, protects and equitably benefits from Land and Natural resources .Our intervention programmes include 1 Establishment of indigenous tree and bamboo nurseries for agroforestry and reforestation 2 Establishment of botanical gardens 3.Beekeeping 4.Restricted use of biodiversity rich/cultural sites.5.Value addition on honey,bamboo,Tree products 6. Ecotourism
