We are the Hydropan team from Lukenya University, a group of young innovators passionate about solving water scarcity and food insecurity in arid and semi-arid regions.
Hydropan is a climate-smart water conservation system that harvests and stores rainwater while using pumpkin cover crops to reduce water loss through evaporation. Combined with drip irrigation and sustainable farming practices, the system helps communities grow food more efficiently while conserving precious water resources.
What started as a student innovation project has evolved into a practical solution that supports farmers, improves agricultural productivity, and builds resilience against climate change. Our goal is to expand Hydropan to more communities and demonstrate how simple, locally driven innovations can create lasting impact.
The funds we raise will be used to construct additional Hydropan systems, provide farmer training, improve irrigation infrastructure, and scale the project to reach more households and communities.
By supporting Hydropan, you are helping us promote sustainable water management, strengthen food security, and create a more resilient future for vulnerable communities. Together, we can turn innovation into lasting change.
