Support GreenPill chapters to explore local DeSci ideas or exising projects aligned with Ethereum Localism — solving local challenges (health, environment, education) through decentralized science and environmental protection. Proposals should highlight how public-good science can serve communities at a grassroots level. Here is the slide deck about GreenSci https://gamma.app/docs/GreenSci-Fund-Pool-pba7cep4vzsia05
Each GreenPill local chapter can submit 1 DeSci-related proposal, either in progress or in planning. Proposals must relate to a local issue (e.g., soil management, waste recycling, native species restoration, water quality monitoring).
After months normination & conviction voting by the whole greenpill network community in Garden, here are 10 GreenSci projects. (Ref: https://app.gardens.fund/gardens/10/0x4200000000000000000000000000000000000042/0x5b1a1dcbf48c0f317102d05d10caa258b9c9d1c5/149)
Global Shapers Abidjan Hub × GreenPill CI : Océan Bleu Mapping Campaign GreenPill Côte d’Ivoire proposes to support Océan Bleu, a coastal cleanup and environmental awareness initiative led by the Global Shapers Abidjan Hub, by integrating a citizen-driven environmental data collection pilot through La Ligne Verte, our open infrastructure for pollution monitoring.
This project aligns with the GreenSci Fund Pool by applying open, public-good environmental science to a concrete local challenge: coastal pollution, unmanaged waste accumulation, and lack of reliable environmental data on Abidjan’s shoreline. GreenPill Brasil — Bio-Regional DeSci Pilots for Soil & Ecosystem Regeneration in Rio de Janeiro Greenpill Brasil proposes to launch a local DeSci pilot in the state of Rio de Janeiro, led by our bioregional champion Catito Clarkson (Permabrasilis), to test and validate regenerative monitoring protocols focused on soil health, agroecological resilience, and community science.
This project aligns with the GreenSci Fund Pool by applying public-good science to a concrete local challenge: degraded soils and declining agroecosystem functionality in rural and peri-urban Rio communities.
The initiative integrates open data, low-cost measurement tools, and community participation. It also contributes directly to Ethereum Localism by using blockchain-based verification and coordination to elevate grassroots regenerative work. BioTerra Commons Greensci Project, Kenya “BioTerra Commons is the open protocol for turning waste biomass into biochar, embedding it in fertile soils, and sharing value through decentralized governance. Our vision: a global commons of regenerative land, where soil health and carbon value are transparently tracked, tokenized, and governed by community stewards.” Ref: https://app.gardens.fund/gardens/10/0x4200000000000000000000000000000000000042/0x5b1a1dcbf48c0f317102d05d10caa258b9c9d1c5/149/0xa9950441cb07361d095e625d286f737cbc501845-14
