The "Community Composting Project" is an initiative promoted by the organization Regenera Club Venezuela in the city of Mérida, Venezuela.
This project takes place weekly within the spaces of the Faculty of Forest and Environmental Sciences at the University of Los Andes (ULA) in Mérida, VE. The central objective is to reduce the generation of urban organic waste, diverting it from the municipal landfill through the implementation of soil regeneration practices.
Beyond the technical process, the initiative seeks to transform this space into a community meeting point integrating cultural, educational, and volunteer activities , promoting a culture of habitat care through taking responsibility for the organic waste we generate. The execution plan is divided into two phases: the first focuses on generating basic infrastructure and acquiring tools to guarantee the operability of the compost , while the second focuses on communication and digital strategies for community awareness and integration regarding urban organic waste management.
