About Foundation for Restoration and Environmental Conservation-FReECo
FReECo is a Cameroonian non-governmental and non-profit body with concern on ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation and building Local capacity mostly in rural remote communities and areas affected by socio-political unrest.
FReECo actively engages and empowers local communities as key stakeholders in environmental conservation, working to protect endangered wildlife and restore degraded habitats through inclusive, community-based approaches while promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities that balance human well-being with ecological health. Operating in Cameroon with a focus on rural and ecologically sensitive areas affected by environmental degradation, FReECo works closely with local communities to restore ecosystems and protect biodiversity. The organization empowers local communities to lead conservation efforts by combining community engagement, sustainable livelihood development, and capacity building, providing training in biomonitoring and surveillance tools.
