**🌍 The Problem** A recent fire damaged the green areas of **Parque das Tribos**, an Indigenous community in Manaus, Brazil. Wildlife fled. Vegetation was lost. The fire worsened air quality and caused respiratory issues, especially among children and elders. Beyond the visible damage, the event exposed the urgent need for community-based environmental recovery and long-term care for local ecosystems. **🌱 What the Community Is Doing** In response, the community is organizing a coordinated clean-up and reforestation initiative, led by youth and driven by local leadership—especially Samuel Munduruku, a young Indigenous organizer from Parque das Tribos. The plan brings together Indigenous knowledge, volunteer action, and technology to restore the affected areas and improve wellbeing. This effort is supported by **GainForest**, which provides tools and guidance for transparent impact tracking and ecosystem monitoring. **🧭 Key Activities This Ecocert Supports** * Clean-up of streets, neighborhoods, and green spaces * Mapping burned areas in collaboration with residents * Planting of native and fruit-bearing trees * Documentation of animal return and vegetation growth * Visual reporting and records for transparency.
