Hofi Kolektivo - Agroforestry in Curacao (2024)

Hofi Kolektivo is a community agroforestry farm of about 0.5 acre in Scherpenheuvel, Curacao. The location is managed by Kolektivo Curacao Foundation, a local non-profit dedicated to improving the well-being of the island through regenerative practices. Hofi Kolektivo is being maintained by a local network of contributors who are paid in-kind (fruits and vegatables harvested) and occasscional contribution based financial rewards. Since the start of the 2024, Hofi Kolektivo has had nearly 20 community work days, facilitated 5 workshops and courses, and planted over 300 trees and plants from 30+ different species, including an endangered species of local Kapok. Hofi Kolektivo has also hosted two community markets. In total over 250 people have participated in Hofi Kolektivo and 0.2 hectares have been restored.
