Mnarani Green Recovery & Youth Climate Action Initiative
Building a Cleaner Future, One Community at a Time
In Kilifi County, Kenya, BAHA MADZO GADZE FOR CHARITY is transforming communities through environmental action. Driven by the urgent need to combat plastic pollution and climate change, we've created a movement where young people and residents become agents of environmental change.
For years, we've mobilized local communities and schools with hands-on initiatives: cleanup campaigns, tree-planting drives, waste management education, and youth empowerment programs that turn environmental awareness into tangible results.
Our signature initiative, the Zero Plastic Football Fiesta, demonstrates how creativity sparks change. Since 2019, we've used sports to unite young people and champion climate responsibility. Tournament winners receive customized kits, reinforcing the message that environmental stewardship creates real rewards.
Beyond sports, we restore public spaces—from beaches to roadsides to schoolyards—through strategic tree-planting and community beautification projects. Environmental education sessions equip residents with practical knowledge for sustainable living.
Our vision: Climate-resilient communities where young people and residents actively protect the environment and build sustainable solutions for generations to come.
Guided by our motto, "Usafi Wa Mazingira Yetu Ni Jukumu Letu Sote" (Our Environmental Cleanliness Is Our Collective Responsibility), we continue driving grassroots climate action across Kilifi County.
